Paula’s sense of humour and sharp wit was captivating; her playful nature
was infectious; and it didn’t take long for people to be drawn to her.
However, it was her big-heart and inner strength that kept people
close. Because of her ability to
listen and her practical and encouraging advice, Paula quickly became a
confidant to many. To be her
friend meant you always had someone in your corner; someone loyal and
fiercely supportive.
Paula was the first person you would call when you had good news because you
were certain she would share in your excitement.
Within seconds she was at your side, taking over the planning of the
celebration. She was also the
first person you would want to talk to when you had bad news to share.
Paula was a natural in knowing when to just listen, when to give you
words of encouragement and when to help you see the humour or lighter side
of the situation.
Being a true friend is a full-time job and Paula took on this role with
every fibre of her being. Her
friendship and the example she set has had a lasting affect on all who were
fortunate enough to call her “friend”. This
is evident in the way her friends have rallied together during this tragedy.
One of Paula’s greatest legacies is the number of friends who continue to
gather together in support of her family and of each other; and most
importantly, to celebrate her life and remember how she made them feel.
